Fractions, Decimals & Percents Worksheet Generator
Generate fresh conversion tables or focused one-direction practice. Every fraction, decimal, and percent is derived from the same exact rational value, so the answer key never depends on an unstated rounding rule.

The benchmarks to memorize, and the two moves
Fluent conversion (CCSS 4.NF.C.6, 6.RP.A.3c, 7.NS.A.2d) leans on a short set of anchors students should just know: 1/2 = 0.5 = 50%, 1/4 = 0.25 = 25%, 1/5 = 0.2 = 20%, 1/8 = 0.125 = 12.5%, and 1/3 is about 0.333 or 33 and one third percent. Everything else follows from two moves.
Divide the numerator by the denominator. 3/8 is 3 divided by 8, which is 0.375.
Percent is the decimal times 100, so 0.375 is 37.5%. Percent to decimal divides by 100.
Reading 0.5 as 5% instead of 50%, or 1/2 as 0.2 by confusing "out of ten" with the actual division.
Quick answers
Which conversion directions are included?
Practice fraction→decimal, decimal→fraction, fraction→percent, percent→fraction, decimal→percent, percent→decimal, mixed directions, or a three-form conversion table.
Will fractions produce repeating decimals?
No. The generator uses denominator sets that divide a power of ten, so every generated decimal terminates exactly within the supported precision.
Are percent values rounded separately?
No. Fraction, decimal, and percent are derived from one exact rational value. Extended mode can show exact values such as 12.5%.
Are fraction answers simplified?
Yes. The fraction representation is reduced to lowest terms before prompts and answer keys are built.
Can I create a 3-column style worksheet?
Yes. Table mode gives one representation and leaves the other two forms blank, then provides the complete fraction = decimal = percent relationship on the key.
Converting between fractions, decimals, and percents
A fraction, a decimal, and a percent can all name the same amount. To change a fraction to a decimal, divide the numerator by the denominator. To change a decimal to a percent, multiply by 100, which moves the decimal point two places to the right. To go back, divide the percent by 100.
Worked examples
- 3/4 as a decimal: 3 ÷ 4 = 0.75, which is 75%.
- 0.6 as a percent: 0.6 × 100 = 60%, and as a fraction it is 6/10 = 3/5.
- 1/8 as a decimal: 1 ÷ 8 = 0.125, which is 12.5%.
Common slips
- Dividing the denominator by the numerator, which gives 1.33 instead of 0.75 for 3/4.
- Moving the decimal point the wrong way, so 0.6 becomes 0.6% instead of 60%.
- Forgetting to simplify the fraction, so 6/10 is not reduced to 3/5.
How to use this generator
Pick the conversion direction and number set, print the sheet with the answer key, and ask students to check one answer by converting it back.
